Mike is a seasoned transactional attorney who works hand-in-hand with businesses across a number of industries to negotiate, manage and paper their commercial agreements. Having previously spent time in-house for a number of companies, Mike enjoys working with his clients to understand their business needs in order to provide practical legal solutions.
Prior to joining Michael Best, Mike served as the lead commercial partner at a venture and corporate law firm. Within this role, Mike supported startups and managed the firm’s growing commercial practice. Before entering private practice, Mike spent three years at a publicly traded Bay Area software as a service (SaaS) company, where he acted as a primary legal contact within the organization and reported directly to the company’s CFO. He also held various in-house positions for privately held companies in both Los Angeles and Atlanta.
Mike earned the designation of Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) from the International Association of Privacy Professionals and has been involved in advising companies on the nuances of privacy and data security since the initial days of the US-EU Safe Harbor Program.
